Coloproctology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Coloproctology Specialist to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality surgical care for the local population, specializing in emergency general surgery and elective colorectal surgical care.

This includes managing complex patients with intestinal failure (IF) and working closely with colleagues in gastroenterology, interventional radiology, nutritional services, and the multidisciplinary team.

We are one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 17,000 staff and providing over 100 specialist services across 6 hospital sites.

We serve over 500,000 people living in Cardiff and the Vale, focusing on their health and care needs while working with partners to develop regional services.

The appointee will lead the development of an adult IF unit at University Hospital of Wales, requiring demonstrable training and experience in managing complex IF patients.

They will also have organizational and team working skills to work closely with colleagues and contribute to the co-ordination of patient care across multiple sites in the region.

This Consultant contract includes excellent benefits, including a salary of £208,000 per annum, depending on experience.
