The company is seeking a skilled Production Manager to oversee the efficient and reliable running of production, ensuring 100% customer service levels are maintained.

The Role
  1. Work as production lead, reporting to the senior Production Manager;
  2. Manage day-to-day production challenges, actioning back up plans if required;
  3. Allocate duties and co-ordinate the Production team to maximise utilisation;
  4. Work with the Raw Materials team to ensure stock is available to Production;
  5. Liaise with Production Managers, Hygiene team, Operations and Engineering team daily;
  6. Ensure production colleagues maintain pace and accuracy in order to achieve deadlines;
  7. Follow safety and recipe-critical formulation methods to meet customer specifications;
  8. Oversee the Prep area, ensuring the correct quantities of ingredients are measured and passed to Production;
  9. Operate and supervise manual, semi-manual and automated processes;
  10. Provide training and support to operatives, ensuring they are competent and working to stringent standards;
  11. Promptly identify and report faults to Maintenance when machinery errors are experienced;
  12. Ensure the Production team adheres to QHS policies, COSHH guidelines, PPE protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices;
  13. Motivate the Production team and promote a cohesive team-based culture;
  14. Liaise effectively with HR regarding job enrichment and training needs.
The Person
  1. This role would be ideal for an experienced Food Industry Production Manager or Production Supervisor;
  2. At least 18 months UK-based experience working in Production in a supervisory or Team Lead capacity within the Food Manufacturing sector;
  3. The Production Manager appointed must fit in with the company management style and culture;
  4. Have a good manner with customers, able to show customers around the Factory and answer Customer questions;
  5. Able to lead by example and apply a hands-on management style;
  6. Inquisitive, open to attend training courses and develop knowledge and experience;
  7. Keen to learn from the senior Production Manager and Head of Production.

Salary circa £36,000 pa to £40,000 pa depending on experience.
