Children's Deputy Home Manager Position

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager to join their team in a Children's home located in Earley, Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring the provision of high-quality care to children.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage and supervise staff, including regular meetings and appraisals
  • Monitor and address any concerns regarding staff performance
  • Facilitate team briefings, meetings, and training sessions to ensure effective communication and information sharing
  • Manage a budget for the provision, ensuring best value and maintaining accurate records
  • Develop and implement personalized target setting for children, with regular reports to the local authority
  • Oversee health and safety arrangements, including first aid, risk assessments, and compliance with legislation
  • Lead on behavioural intervention strategies, including Positive Behaviour Support plans
  • Comply with diversity and equality policies, promoting these principles among colleagues and service users
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and perform other reasonable duties as required
Requirements:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Children and Young People's residential services or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Children's residential care
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage budgets
  • Experience of participating in Ofsted inspections
