Chemical Synthesis Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Synthesis Specialist to join our team at Asymchem Group. The successful candidate will have a passion for synthetic organic chemistry and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE).

The role will involve designing and developing efficient routes and processes for the large-scale manufacture of small molecules, including complex Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), for the pharmaceutical and other industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design of new synthetic routes to small molecule targets.
• Engage in wider departmental science and share knowledge.
• Develop advanced skills in data-centric process design, enabling the development of the most efficient, sustainable, robust and safe large-scale manufacturing processes.
• Deliver innovative solutions to chemical challenges utilising state-of-the-art automated technologies to execute and analyse high-throughput reaction screens.
• Become an industry recognised subject matter expert in HTE, whilst gaining valuable experience in delivering scientific excellence through others.

Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required.
• Extensive knowledge of contemporary literature and organic chemistry, including synthetic reagents, methodologies, reaction mechanisms, reaction work-up, and isolations.
• A passion for continuous learning and improvement, with a strong ability to acquire new skills and apply them effectively.
• Creative and analytical problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to apply knowledge to new challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration, are essential.
