Job Description

In this key role as Electrical Site Manager with DPS Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of electrical projects across Scotland. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer and Project Manager, you will have full control over managing all on-site activities, including sub-contractor work and ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with specifications and relevant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will instruct, direct, control, and allocate work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, ensuring that they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management requirements is a top priority. You must ensure that all site activities adhere to these regulations and maintain accurate records accordingly.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, filing it correctly and making it readily available for inspection at any time.
  • Plan and organize work to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency, guaranteeing that all tasks are carried out safely.
  • Conduct competence assessments in line with company timetables, documenting progress and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with trades operatives and contractors to discuss matters related to ongoing projects.
  • Liaise regularly with other contractors working on-site to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed about contract progress and forecast future resource needs.

Requirements:

  • A degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience at a supervisory level within the electrical trade, supported by City & Guilds certifications or equivalent.
  • SMSTS certification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated awareness of current Health & Safety practices and the ability to manage changing priorities on-site.
  • A valid Full UK Driving Licence.
