Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join a thriving secondary school in Ashford. This role is essential to the school's commitment to nurturing and supporting the well-being of students. You will work closely with teachers, students, and families to provide tailored guidance, helping students overcome personal challenges and reach their full potential.
About the Role:This role is a key part of the school's commitment to student welfare and well-being. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with teachers, students, and families to provide guidance and support to students facing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and group support to students facing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges.
- Act as a key point of contact for students, offering advice and pastoral care.
- Develop and implement personalised pastoral plans to support students' academic and personal progress.
- Monitor students' well-being and behaviour, offering proactive interventions where necessary.
- Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective student support.
- Promote positive behaviour management and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting (desirable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting the well-being of young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures (training provided if needed).
- Relevant qualifications in education, social care, or youth work (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
