Financial Director

Orka Financial is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Board, Senior Leadership Team, and Line Manager to ensure compliance and duties are upheld.
- Manage a team of 10 finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the control team runs efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and report to the Group Financial Controller and wider management in monthly review meetings.
- Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger and all accounts are fully reconciled.
- Review management accounts and month-end ledgers to identify unusual trends or inconsistencies.
- Train and mentor staff in the control team to ensure they have a good understanding of transactions and their flows.
- Liaise with other areas of the finance team and other business areas to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Lead the statutory audit process, allocating responsibilities within the team and communicating with external auditors.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts under current UK and Irish GAAP.
- Monitor processes and controls to ensure they are effective and efficient.
Requirements:
- Good technical knowledge and ability to interpret relevant accounting standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
