About the Role
We are seeking experienced Care Assistants to join our team. As a Care Assistant with Home Instead, you will be responsible for providing companionship and personal care to our clients in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer companionship and conversation to clients, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
- Monitor diet and eating habits, ensuring clients receive nutritious meals and stay hydrated
- Stimulate and encourage clients through a variety of activities, promoting mental and physical well-being
- Arrange and provide reminders for appointments, activities, and outings, helping clients maintain independence
- Assist with travel arrangements, ensuring safe transportation to medical appointments and social events
- Organise mail and write letters on behalf of clients, maintaining their communication channels
- Accompany clients to appointments and social events, providing emotional support and companionship
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and laundry, to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Run errands and collect prescriptions, freeing up time for clients to focus on their interests
- Provide medication reminders, ensuring clients take their medications as prescribed
- Help clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming, promoting personal hygiene and dignity
- Assist with continence care, providing discreet and respectful support
- Prepare and tidy away meals, helping clients maintain a healthy diet
- Answer the door, receiving visitors and managing correspondence
- Supervise home maintenance, ensuring the client's home remains safe and secure
- Help with shopping and oversee home deliveries, ensuring clients have access to essential supplies
