Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Dietitian to join our team at Whipps Cross University Hospital, a hospital in the heart of East London with a diverse population. As a Band 6 Rotational Dietitian, you will have the opportunity to expand your general and specialist skills across multiple inpatient specialties, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main Duties
  • Provide an effective and specialist dietetic service to patients across various specialties, contributing to patient outcomes.
  • Support the dietetic team in developing and providing a service to inpatients at Whipps Cross Hospital.
  • Supervise junior staff on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that research and audit are undertaken regularly to ensure evidence-based practice.

Person Specification
  • Teaching Qualification.
  • BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Qualification in area of specialisation or evidence of significant experience in same.
  • HCPC registered.
Desirable Criteria
  • Teaching Qualification.
Experience
  • Demonstrable clinical post-registration experience in a relevant setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and understanding of team dynamics.
  • Documented evidence of commitment to CPD.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Clinical Governance and its relevance to everyday practice.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of own knowledge and skills and ability to identify learning needs and interests.
Leadership Skills
  • Ability to work effectively single-handedly with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviour change facilitation/motivational interviewing.
  • Ability to problem-solve, analyse complex clinical problems, and create practical solutions to provide best clinical care.
  • Ability to communicate complex medical conditions in sensitive and easily understandable language.

  • Ability to communicate with patients in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures.
  • Can demonstrate an enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly manner.
  • Ability to communicate life-threatening/complex medical conditions in a sensitive and easily understandable language.
