Job Title: Environmental Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Officer to join our team at The Skills Coalition. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating environmental activities, ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations, and supporting the improvement of our environmental culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental plans to ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain an audit regime for statutory and environmental compliance.
  • Provide training and support to staff on environmental systems and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to facilitate site improvements and ensure compliance.
  • Work with the management team to foster a positive environmental culture within the company.
  • Lead in the verification of legal compliance and ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with environmental systems of work.
  • Produce and deliver environmental calendar events and reports to inform management about shaping environmental strategy, policy, and product development.

Requirements:

  • IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • 3-10 years of experience in the field.
  • Excellent understanding of the gas and oil industry (preferred).
  • Qualification/Experience with CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Experience in a complex, commercial, multi-divisional organization.
  • Solid and up-to-date knowledge of practical environmental principles and legislation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory compliance.
  • Detailed understanding of Environmental Management systems.
  • Solid understanding of construction and project-related safety aspects.
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to measure performance against internal and external benchmarks, identifying new solutions to business requirements.
