About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our CAMHS Crisis Clinician team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative models of care and contributing to assessment and discharge planning of children and young people who present with mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team to ensure prompt assessment of children and young people under the age of 18 who present with urgent mental health needs.
  • Have substantial experience of CAMHS in an acute environment and be able to work across geographical and professional boundaries.
  • Be able to work effectively across organisational boundaries and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a flexible approach to facilitate a timely response to acute service demands.
Person Specification
  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
  • Qualification at degree level or equivalent and registration with relevant professional body with a core profession (clinical/counselling psychology, psychotherapy, systemic family psychotherapy social work, nursing, occupational therapy).
  • Relevant training or qualification in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Relevant training on safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Training in one of the main therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience of teaching colleagues of other disciplines.
  • Experience of working in a culturally diverse area.
  • Experience of working in an adolescent environment.
