The St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Genetics Consultant to join its innovative clinical service. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with rare genetic disorders. With a strong focus on cancer genetics, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

This role offers a unique opportunity to take shared responsibility for cancer genetics referrals and to develop your own specialist interest in a field that aligns with departmental requirements. You will have the chance to lead on specialist cancer services, enhance your continuing professional development, and support the Genetics Counsellors with complex cases. The post-holder will also be expected to provide training for junior colleagues and contribute to the enhancement of genomic medicine within the trust.

We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The successful applicant will possess a medical degree, full registration with the GMC, MRCP (UK) or equivalent, and be on the GMC specialist register or within six months of CCT in Clinical Genetics at the date of interview. Experience in training, teaching, and assessing undergraduate medical students is essential, as well as evidence of maintaining and updating teaching skills.

A Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education or equivalent qualification would be highly desirable, as would active participation in teaching at post-graduate level. We are looking for someone who is flexible, has good interpersonal skills, and a caring attitude towards patients. The salary for this position is estimated to be around £83,000 - £93,000 per annum, depending on experience.
