About the Role

The Research Infrastructure Specialist will be part of the Research and Computing team, responsible for the development and maintenance of the University’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) services and Research Storage services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in administering Linux servers, working knowledge of Windows operating systems, and familiarity with HPC technologies, including provisioning, job schedulers, and low-latency interconnects.

They will design, script, code, test, and document the deployment and development of Open Source commercial and custom software using agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered bespoke systems.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to the active community of Research Computing users, through knowledge transfer, assisting them with utilizing the resources, debugging, and optimization.

About the Team

The Research Computing team supports the University's research community by providing HPC and storage services, as well as expertise in data management and analysis.

The team is committed to delivering high-quality services and support, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this effort.
