Join Shorterm Group as a High Level Mechanical and Electrical Specialist to work on the Class 345 Crossrail fleet of trains at our Old Oak Common depot in North West London. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician with high level fault finding and rectification skills, working primarily in the corrective mechanical and electrical maintenance of rolling stock units.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with experience in fault finding, repairs, and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and maintenance manuals. They should also be proficient in producing solutions that provide short-term mitigation and long-term resolution, as well as monitoring warranty issues and liaising with supplier technical teams.

This is a Safety Critical environment, and all tasks undertaken must ensure that the operator can achieve and maintain the reliability and availability targets set for the trains. The successful applicant will work closely with the Fleet Operator and Reliability Shift Manager to undertake / supervise corrective mechanical and electrical maintenance, detailed fault finding and repair.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that any maintenance undertaken at the depot is completed in accordance with company processes, procedures, and safety regulations. You will also provide high level technical support to the operator, including high-level fault finding electrically and mechanically, providing train systems engineering advice, and assisting with root cause analysis using Alstom FRACAS, 8D, PPS methodologies.

This contract role offers a competitive hourly pay rate of £30.27 PAYE or £38.85 Umbrella, with a minimum of 50 hours per week and a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off. Days and nights are included, with ongoing contracts available.
