Nightshift HGV Technician Opportunity

Ford and Slater, a leading DAF Truck dealer group, is seeking a skilled Nightshift HGV Technician to join our team at our Sheffield dealership.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced HGV Technician to work on a night shift, ensuring the maintenance and repair of a wide range of trucks and vehicles. As a Nightshift HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing and maintaining trucks and vehicles to manufacturer standards
  • Carrying out safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOTs
  • Diagnosing faults and ensuring repairs are carried out safely and efficiently
  • Participating in breakdowns and road testing vehicles when required
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate, overtime at premium rates, and excellent DAF training and development opportunities. You will also have access to in-house and manufacturer training, HGV driving licence training after a qualifying period, and a range of benefits including 22 days holiday (pro-rata, excluding statutory), rising to 25 days after 5 years service.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Technician/Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car, or associated sector
  • A recognised apprenticeship or training programme
  • Qualified to Level 3 (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Excellent technical knowledge and diagnostic skills
  • A full UK driving licence
Shift Pattern

The successful candidate will work a night shift pattern, Monday to Thursday, with occasional flexibility required.
