About the Role

This Senior Engineer position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the research, design, development, manufacturing, and testing of implantable medical devices and pharmaceutical products.

You will be working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with surgeons, inventors, research groups, and universities to develop innovative ophthalmic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Optical system design, prototype development, and testing for intraocular lenses
  2. Leading cross-functional project teams in developing new ophthalmic products from concept feasibility to full-scale manufacturing
  3. Critical evaluation of Company processes, products, and systems for effectiveness, quality, and efficiency
  4. Generating innovative research ideas (next-generation products) in collaboration with your line manager
  5. Applying advanced optics knowledge to resolve complex technical issues in new product development, product improvement, and manufacturing projects

Requirements:

  1. Masters or PhD in physics or a relevant technical discipline
  2. 5+ years of experience with Zemax optical design software, MATLAB, and medical device regulations
  3. Expert knowledge of optical design principles and test methods
  4. Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and interacting with international regulatory bodies
  5. Ability to interpret patient optometry data, biometry, and refraction information
