Job Overview

Catch22 is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Substance Misuse Practitioner Apprentice to join our Surrey Young Persons Substance Misuse Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support to young people and their families, promoting their personal, social, and educational development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one support to young people, utilizing a harm reduction approach that prioritizes the service user's needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive support package, including counseling, pharmacological support, and education.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with young people, parents, and carers, ensuring a holistic and supportive approach.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized recovery plans, tailored to each young person's needs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, enhancing your knowledge and skills in youth support work and substance misuse.
Requirements
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy, evidenced by GCSEs in Math and English at grade 4/C or higher.
  • Ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding their well-being.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to adopt a 'can-do' attitude and approach.
  • Good ICT skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
