Gowen Stevens Solicitors is a reputable and expanding law firm seeking a skilled Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Conveyancing Department.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced solicitors and contribute to the firm's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management of conveyancing files from instruction through to completion, including preparation and submission of relevant documentation.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and ensuring that their queries are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documents related to client requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements throughout the conveyancing process, including performing anti-money laundering checks and client due diligence.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the conveyancing team, including managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate client records.
- Assist with post-completion tasks, including submitting applications to the Land Registry and handling Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions.
- Relevant conveyancing knowledge and experience is essential.
- A solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process, including knowledge of Land Registry and SDLT requirements.
- Basic understanding of in-house IT systems. Experience of BigHand digital dictation and/or Leap Case Management would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- First-rate customer service skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Positive with an enthusiastic, can-do attitude to work with a willingness to learn.
