Control and Instrumentation Trainer

AWE plc is searching for a highly skilled Instructor/Trainer to join our team, responsible for delivering training in control and instrumentation systems to our apprentices. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of C&I systems and the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate effective training programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and deliver training in practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours for control and instrumentation apprentices
- Optimise, organise, develop, and deliver skills and underpinning knowledge training for allocated apprentices
- Hold or be willing to obtain teacher and assessor status and maintain it via continued professional development activity
- Work as part of the Skills Academy team to ensure defined company and national contracted requirements for development are met
- Assure, assess, and/or instruct apprentices' skills, knowledge, and behaviours, including during work-based learning
- Line manage apprentices, including company performance management process and identify and address development needs and assessment using recognised company and academy processes
- Lead a team of approx. 12 direct reports
- Proven presentation skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal to be understood by a range of audiences, from new apprentices to senior management within AWE
- Good influencing skills to ensure the appropriate learning opportunities and development of individuals
- Extensive experience in an engineering environment (engineers only)
- Ability to undertake and pass a CRB check
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people and grades across the business, particularly young people
- Ability to attend off-site events, which may include short periods away from home including overnight stays
