Consumer Credit Lawyer Vice President

As a key member of our Unsecured Regulated Lending team at Barclays UK Legal, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and risk management for consumer credit lending in Barclays UK PLC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise senior business stakeholders on consumer credit law, including CONC and the Consumer Credit Act, and other relevant laws and guidance.
  • Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
  • Provide proactive consumer banking legal advice and support to the consumer banking division on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Represent the bank in legal proceedings related to consumer banking, such as litigation, arbitration, and regulatory inquiries and investigations.
  • Stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the bank's consumer banking operations.

  • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
