About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant to join our team at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. As a key member of our Finance function, you will play a crucial role in influencing decision-making across the Council through comprehensive financial planning and analysis.

You will work strategically with all Finance functions to develop robust financial models that underpin our short- and medium-term planning. Your expertise will be essential in developing and maintaining a strong Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) that ensures the Council's financial health.

About You

We are looking for an experienced local government accountant with a deep understanding of financial planning and strategy. You should be comfortable explaining complex financial issues to senior leaders and have a proven track record in developing and delivering balanced budgets.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with finance teams and other stakeholders to achieve common goals. Working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines will be second nature to you, and your proactive approach will help tackle financial challenges head-on.
