Job Summary

Talent Solutions Staffing UK is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a 12-month contract role. As a key member of our Major Infrastructure Projects directorate, you will be responsible for delivering major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects.

About the Role

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability mainly for dry dock systems. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of mechanical engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of mechanical engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Apply systems engineering approach to develop and validate design requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, technical regulations, and standards.
  • Collaborate across engineering functions and stakeholders to integrate designs within the overall facility layout and manage interfaces.
  • Technical management of specialist sub-contract designers.
  • Maintain the engineering configuration of the design intent (change control).

Requirements

  • A degree, degree apprentice, or demonstrable time served in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council (or actively working towards).
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within Defence, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Engineering principles for the design of mechanical process systems and building services.
  • Regulations, legislation, and standards applicable to mechanical system design and construction.
