About the Role

We are seeking a highly competent and enthusiastic Senior Building Surveyor who is self-driven and client-facing. The successful candidate will enjoy a diverse range of high-quality instructions, with a focus on the design and contract administration of new build, extension, refurbishment, and elemental renewal building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Project Management: Design and provide clear direction to Architectural Technologists for AutoCAD output.
  • Project Procurement: Manage project procurement through the RIBA work stages.
  • Client Advisory: Advise clients on schemes and projects, determining requirements through feasibility studies and budget costings.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects, and specifications of works.
  • Tender and Contract Administration: Prepare documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers, and procurement routes.
  • Project Management: Undertake contract administration and project management.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule.
  • Funding and Finance: Secure Capital funding from funding agencies.
  • Building Surveys: Conduct building surveys, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair.
  • Maintenance and Property Management: Advise on the management and supervision of maintenance works, including the provision of PPM schedules.
  • Planning and Legislation: Process planning applications and advise clients on property legislation, including DDA, health and safety, and building regulations.
  • Party Wall Procedures: Carry out party wall procedures for both building owner and adjoining owner.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven Senior Building Surveyor experience within consultancy.
  • Skills: Experience in Professional Services work, Fire Risk Assessments, and Party Wall surveying is beneficial.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience providing services to the public sector, ideally the Education Sector.
  • Managerial Responsibility: Well-rounded in all areas of managerial responsibility and building surveying.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills.
  • Certifications: A clean Enhanced DBS Check is required due to work with education clients.
