Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a forward-thinking Primary School in Watford. The successful candidate will work in small groups, supporting children who are not yet working at age-related expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher to ensure that the aims and objectives of the school are achieved
  • Prepare materials, set out equipment, and maintain a tidy environment
  • Supervise individual and small groups of pupils during lessons and breaks
  • Work with pupils on specific tasks in small group or individual situations as required
  • Support pupils according to the school policy, pupils' needs, and their risk assessments
  • Complete accurate records on pupils' progress and achievement in accordance with agreed procedures
  • Assist in general cleaning duties to maintain a safe and caring learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN
  • Ability to work in a team and support colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
