Engineering Test Specialist

CK Group is seeking a skilled Prototyping and Test Engineer to join their R&D team in Sedgefield. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining R&D test equipment, including data acquisition tools, signal measurement and processing, and development of control software.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop proof-of-concept product prototypes from the ground up, leveraging your expertise in engineering, physics, electronics, or robotics.
  2. Design and implement new and improved testing procedures based on the needs and requirements of the R&D and Product & Solutions teams.
  3. Maintain, support, and enhance the capabilities of test equipment and testing processes, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  4. Collaborate with other R&D team members to provide innovative solutions to mechanical, electrical, and simulation problems.
  5. Work safely in a lab environment, utilizing complex and varied equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols.
  6. Capture innovation and generate patents and/or other IP forms that protect inventions and create value for the company.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in engineering, physics, electronics, robotics, or a related field.
  2. Experience with data acquisition and hardware control using Python, C, C#, or C++.
  3. Proficiency in electronic circuit prototyping using breadboards.
  4. A proven track record of designing, planning, and building prototype systems that include sensor and/or actuator components, utilizing creative problem-solving to develop novel solutions.
