Our client, a well-established company, is seeking a Trainee Solicitor to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Legal Counsel to support the transformation of the business and provide day-to-day services as an in-house solicitor.
Key Responsibilities:- Contract Review and Drafting: Review and draft commercial and supplier contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Consumer Law and FCA Regulation: Assist the customer complaints team by providing advice on consumer law and FCA regulation.
- Commercial Lending and Banking: Advise on commercial lending and banking matters, including reviewing and drafting agreements.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Assist with litigation in the evolving field of commission complaints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Advise on legal and regulatory matters, including FCA regulation, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Internal and External Representation: Represent the legal department at internal and external meetings, and liaise with external counsel as needed.
- Contract Management: Review and update customer contracts and documentation, and ensure the contract repository is up to date.
- Financial Advertisements: Review financial advertisements to ensure they are compliant with FCA and ASA rules.
- Commercial Agreements: Draft commercial agreements, including reviewing and negotiating terms.
- Legal Updates: Provide legal updates to management and staff, and assist the General Legal Counsel as company secretary.
- HR and Employment Law: Advise on HR matters and employment law, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Law Degree: A law degree (or equivalent) is essential.
- Qualifying Route: If qualifying via the LPC route, having completed the LPC is essential. Applicants wanting to qualify via the SQE route are also welcome to apply.
- Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrates the ability to build good relationships with various stakeholders in the business, precise drafting ability, a good strategic thinker, interest in the motor industry and/or consumer credit, and able to work under pressure.
