We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client in Stockport. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing bespoke and customized project designs for customers from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for customers, including bespoke equipment and automation systems.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical design, and customers, to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Conduct design and hand calculations, and utilize FEA software to optimize designs.
  • Mentor junior design engineers and lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Resolve customer design requests and issues, providing expert technical guidance and support.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in designing bespoke automation systems or similar.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks 3D or equivalent software, with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
