HGV Technician Job Description

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to join our team at a well-established haulage operator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing inspection, service, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles, including 7.5t trucks, tractor units, and everything in between.

Daily Duties:

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify any works that need undertaking
  • Complete all required works identified in the initial inspection
  • Ensure all pre-planned maintenance is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Undertake MOT inspections along with preparations
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure that site Health & Safety standards comply with Company Policy

Working Hours and Rates:

This role is available on a rotating Early/Late shift, with a basic hourly rate of £19.22 per hour. The successful candidate can expect to earn in excess of £55,000 - £60,000 per year, including overtime and annual bonus.

Requirements:

  • Completed an HGV Technician apprenticeship
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ Level Three qualifications
  • Your own tools
  • Full UK driving license
  • Class 1 license would be beneficial but is not essential for this role
