Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Capital Planning and Development Team as a Clerk of Works. This is a key role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, examining, and keeping accurate records of works carried out by contractors on both major and minor schemes in properties owned or controlled by Cambridge University Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Engineering Development Manager, this role is critical in delivering a quality control, quality checks, and health and safety inspection service.
  • Responsible for completing or assisting in completing all relevant documents relating to the standards of work and the resources used by a contractor at all stages of a project.
  • Expected to take responsibility for all aspects of health and safety, including evaluation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), policies, and procedures prior to the commencement and during the delivery of a project.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a small team on all major capital projects, ensuring the safe and high-quality onsite project delivery. We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements and access to a colleague-only café.
