Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and caring individual to join our team as an Ambulance Care Assistant. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing safe and efficient transportation to patients requiring medical appointments or hospital admissions.

About the Role

As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will be responsible for transporting patients to and from medical appointments, between healthcare facilities, and for other medical purposes. You will work closely with our team to provide a high level of patient care and ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments, between healthcare facilities, and for other medical purposes.
  • Provide a high level of patient care and ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Responsible for lifting, securing, and helping patients in and out of the ambulance.
  • Assist with the handover of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centers or hospitals.
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar both in and out of hospitals and medical/commercial flights.
  • Assist patients with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses.

Requirements

  • A commitment to patient care and a passion for making a difference.
  • An effective communicator with experience of communicating with others in emotionally challenging situations.
  • A calm, considerate, and careful driver with a full UK driving license and no more than three penalty points on your license.
  • A natural flair for team working and collaboration.
  • Physical fitness for patient handling and moving.
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company-funded).
  • Able to work flexible shifts, including early starts, late finishes, and night shifts.
