Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team at CV-Library in Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance support to ensure the smooth operation of our automation and business IT systems.
  • Develop solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency, leveraging your expertise in electrical control systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate business IT systems with plant operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation capabilities and investigate innovative technologies.
  • Support the development of capital projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in a technical field and membership of a professional engineering body.
  • Proven experience leading automation and IT projects, with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical processes and equipment requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming, as well as serialization tracking and vision systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on problem-solving and adaptability.

Work Environment

This role requires occasional travel to suppliers and plant locations, with an on-call shift pattern to provide critical support during production hours.

Salary

The salary for this position is approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
