Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a new low-volume Body-in-White (BIW) production facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the dimensional quality output from this bodyshop meets our KPIs and resolves downstream customer issues. We are seeking a manager, lead engineer, and engineers to join our team.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for each zone's quality performance, using standard roadmaps to report improvements against deadlines.
  • Complete assembly tooling commissioning activities.
  • Physical buy-off of assembly tooling, following the MEDOC9 process.
  • Develop Commissioning plans for each build phase, ensuring sufficient time to commission measurement programmes and gather measurement data for maturation.
  • Support build and commissioning of bodyshop, with responsibility of and accountability to achieve dimensional quality targets, both process-related and product/downstream customer-related.
  • Review Part Shifted Tolerance Requests, ensuring deviations have no detrimental impact on vehicle quality.
  • Monitor, review, improve, and report out Dimensional Metrics and Roadmaps in all required forums.
  • Run Virtual and/or Physical Matching events – Exterior Co-Ordination Fixtures (ECF) and Part Co-Ordination Fixtures (PCF).
Qualifications:
  • Degree, HND/C in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Automotive background – with understanding of Manufacturing Processes (ideally Body-in-White and General Assembly).
  • Experience of launching a new vehicle into production.
