Carbon Capture Process Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Carbon Capture Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our carbon capture process. The ideal candidate will have expertise in reaction engineering, multi-phase fluid modeling, and chemical process design. You will play a crucial role in accelerating technology development and Parallel Carbon's impact.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize carbon capture and mineral handling processes to support technology scale-up
- Plan and oversee the scale-up of equipment from lab scale to pilot and commercial scales
- Apply expertise in engineering to enhance process efficiency and productivity
- Analyze process kinetics for various environmental conditions and processing parameters
- Model and understand the interaction between airflow and water evaporation to determine optimal humidity levels
- Simulate chemical reactions and processes to evaluate performance and feasibility
- Design and oversee the selection, sourcing, construction, installation, and operation of equipment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot and develop innovative solutions
- Perform data analysis and interpretation to identify trends and patterns in process parameters
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate results and progress
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial research settings, developing and optimizing processes
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in pilot plants, manufacturing environments, or other industrial settings
- Previous industry experience in cement, concrete, paints, coatings, minerals, mining, pharmaceutical production, food processing, or a related field
- Knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and process control
- Strong understanding of process design methodologies and unit operations
- Ability to develop safe and economical processes for multiphase material handling and separation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management skills
