Senior Software Engineer Embedded Systems & Applications

A dynamic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly expanding electro-optics company. This role is ideal for a skilled software professional with a background in embedded systems and desktop application development, who thrives in a collaborative environment. Based in the Horsham area, you'll be working on cutting-edge projects and supporting both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from concept design to detailed design, coding, and testing.
  2. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics Engineers, to ensure project success.
  3. Develop robust embedded software with a focus on fault management, reporting, and system health monitoring.
  4. Work closely with customers to integrate solutions, provide on-site commissioning support, and resolve issues.
  5. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including interface control documents and fault management lists.
  6. Provide technical guidance to project managers, offering insights to manage risks, solutions, and project timelines.
Requirements:
  1. Strong degree in a related field.
  2. Expertise in embedded software design and a strong understanding of associated hardware.
  3. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded applications.
  4. Experience leading technical software projects.
Desirable Skills:
  1. Embedded software/firmware development.
  2. Desktop application development: QT, Visual Studio, networking (TCP/UDP).
  3. Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira, and unit testing technologies.
