Job Title: Exam Access and Specialist Support Tutor

The Learner Support Team at St Helens College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to join our team as an Exam Access and Specialist Support Tutor. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students with learning differences, disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and qualified professional who can provide high-quality support and exam access arrangements for our students. The successful candidate will have a relevant teaching qualification, experience of teaching and supporting learners with SpLD in a Post 16 environment, and excellent report writing skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality support and exam access arrangements for students with learning differences, disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.
  • Work closely with the Learner Support Team to develop and implement effective support plans for students.
  • Assess and provide exam access arrangements for students, ensuring that they have equal access to education.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with academic work for all levels of study.

Requirements
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., DTLLS, Cert Ed, or other Post 16 equivalent).
  • A qualification that meets JCQ requirements for Assessors of Exam Access Arrangements.
  • Experience of teaching and supporting learners with SpLD in a Post 16 environment.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
