Global Trade Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all trade-related activities within the organization are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of international trade regulations, including export controls, customs procedures, and sanctions compliance. You will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In this role, you will provide specialist counsel and oversight to facilitate all trade compliance matters across the organization. This includes:

  • Domestic and international imports and exports
  • Governance, policies, processes, workflows, and procedures
  • Assurance, including internal and external audits
  • Trade compliance training and awareness campaigns
  • Risk management, including identification, logging, and actioning of potential risks
  • Sanctions and embargoes screening
  • Classification and jurisdiction assessments
  • Travel request reviews and approvals

You will work closely with various stakeholders, including programme managers, procurement teams, finance functions, and external suppliers to ensure seamless trade operations. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and adhere to all applicable trade compliance procedures, processes, and mandates
  • Conduct trade compliance denied party screening process
  • Perform assurance checks on import clearances
  • Conduct import clearances, including dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and management of trade compliance tools and resources
  • Maintain and update trade compliance databases and records
  • Support the input and gathering of trade compliance metrics and KPIs

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of international trade regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft IT software applications (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)

  • Clearance to start BPSS
  • Clearance for role SC

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
