Yard Operative

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Yard Operative to contribute to the success of our bus and coach asset management service in Milton Keynes.
This role involves overseeing the cleanliness, roadworthiness, and security of our fleet, ensuring the smooth operation of our yard. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and play a crucial part in maintaining our fleet's standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Security Checks: Perform daily security checks to ensure all assets are locked and secure at the start and end of each workday.
- Fleet Maintenance: Regularly assess the fleet's physical appearance, identifying cleaning, repair, and maintenance needs to keep the vehicles fit-for-hire, roadworthy, taxed, tested, and compliant with regulations.
- Vehicle Preparation: Check in and wash vehicles, reporting any initial defects to ensure prompt action.
- Pre-Booking Preparation: Prioritise the preparation of pre-booked buses and coaches, ensuring they meet customer requirements and are clean, legal, and damage-free.
- Health and Safety: Safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all staff and visitors in collaboration with the Sales Directing Manager.
- Yard Operations: Supervise yard operations, including equipment movement and storage, and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the yard.
- Parking Arrangements: Regularly review parking arrangements to ensure easy access to available equipment.
- Process Improvements: Attend regular health and safety meetings and contribute to process improvements for yard efficiency.
- Driving Duties: Perform driving duties as required by the business.
