Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our research and development team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the full life cycle of our MEC reactors, from installation to maintenance and decommissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of MEC reactors
  • Collect and characterize samples using techniques such as gas chromatography, COD, and pH measurement
  • Prepare media, buffers, and reagents, and conduct routine laboratory testing
  • Perform site visits to pilot plants for sample collection and routine maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to high standards of quality and safety
  • Record data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support the wider team in delivering large projects
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a STEM field, with a focus on practical laboratory experience
  • Valid driving license and vehicle, with business mileage reimbursement
  • Competent and experienced working with hand tools and portable tools
  • Methodical with high attention to detail
  • Excellent record keeping
  • Confident working independently
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Problem-solving mentality
  • Computer literacy
  • Good verbal and written English

  • Competitive annual remuneration: £23 - £26k (depending on experience) + pension
