Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Assistant at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity requiring participation in a 7-day service with varied hours. The successful candidate will work in a Grade Band 2 contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dispensary team in delivering daily activities, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Dispense discharge and inpatient medication, as well as outpatient medication (if based at Princess Royal University Hospital), under supervision.
  • Perform general duties within the Pharmacy distribution service, including receiving goods, conducting ward top-ups, and issuing stock to wards.
Aseptics:
  • Tidy, clean, and disinfect the Aseptic Services environment and equipment according to local SOPs.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring in Aseptic services.
  • Produce and maintain records as defined by local SOP and required by the Associate Director and Chief Technician.
  • Comply with departmental Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements for dress and hygiene when working in aseptic services.

Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or ability to undertake an Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services.
  • Effective communication skills in written and verbal formats with staff and patients.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy services procedures and computer systems.

The salary for this role is approximately £28,166 per annum, depending on location and other factors.
