Senior Assessment Associate

Pearson, the UK's largest awarding body, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Assessment Associate to join our team as a Principal Examiner. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the assessment delivery process and support the growth of our qualifications.
About the RoleThe Principal Examiner will be responsible for ensuring the standards of externally assessed units/modules/components are maintained and consistent with the unit specification and assessment criteria. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading standardisation meetings and participating in others such as appeals against results and post-series reviews;
- Marking allocated live candidates' responses to quality assure as part of a supervisory role;
- Preparing and collating materials for standardisation and assessment;
- Sampling supervisors/Examiners' initial marking via an accompanied visit and providing feedback on the visit;
- Monitoring progress of supervisors/Examiners;
- Acting as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice;
- A history of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proven ability to provide and co-ordinate training such as standardisation and other standards-related activities;
- A comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.
