About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Road Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Roads Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our infrastructure assets, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections and surveys of our roads and other infrastructure assets, identifying areas that require attention or maintenance. You will work closely with our Area Technical Assistant to prioritize repairs and recommend planned works sites. Your duties will also include assisting with reactive repairs and representing the Council in court proceedings related to insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections and surveys of our roads and other infrastructure assets.
- Identify areas that require attention or maintenance and report findings to the Area Technical Assistant.
- Work with the Area Technical Assistant to prioritize repairs and recommend planned works sites.
- Assist with reactive repairs to rectify specific defect types.
- Represent the Council in court proceedings related to insurance claims.
Requirements
- Accredited qualification in Road Inspection, or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
- Health and Safety Awareness accreditation or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
- A current driving licence and use of a vehicle (with reasonable adjustments made for disabilities).
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of £29,667 - £32,657 per annum, pro rata to hours worked, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, flexible working hours, and opportunities for professional development.
