Job Overview: We are seeking a trainee patent attorney to join our Life Sciences team in York.

As a trainee patent attorney, you will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on a range of matters, including original patent drafting and amendment. You will also gain experience assisting on contentious and advisory work.

Candidates must have a proven excellent academic record, with at least a first or upper second class undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology or a related subject.

Excellent written and oral communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or post-graduate looking to start in Autumn/Winter 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist on original patent drafting and amendment
  • Gain experience on contentious and advisory work
  • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys

Requirements:
