Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.



Job Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective administration of the General Assembly's functions, assisting in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its agreed objectives. This will involve implementing decisions of the General Assembly, managing all operational matters of the office, conference and retail complex, and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety regulations.



Key Responsibilities



  • Operational Management: Take lead responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the Assembly Buildings and Fisherwick Buildings complex, including Health and Safety, Security, Facilities Management, maintenance and repair.

  • Staff Supervision: Organise and supervise the work of the Operations and Maintenance Assistant and casual staff, ensuring cover at all times and providing support as necessary.

  • Security and Safety: Oversee and ensure that appropriate security personnel are in place to meet the requirements of the General Assembly, its Councils and external bookings.

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Ensure that fire alarms are maintained, including regular inspection, servicing and testing, and assist in evacuation procedures.

  • Contractor Management: Manage and coordinate the Assembly Building maintenance plan, oversee external suppliers of property services, and manage all service contracts and contractor appointments.

  • Facilities Management: Ensure that the fabric and furnishings of the buildings are maintained, including regular planned maintenance, inspection and servicing.

  • Health and Safety: Work as the Health and Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation, and referring any queries to the Head of Conferencing & Operations.

  • Customer Service: Provide advice and information as required for queries, correspondence and complaints in relation to buildings issues.



Requirements



  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification at Degree level or equivalent, or 2 A levels or equivalent and 3 years relevant management experience.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, including building operations management, implementing maintenance programmes, and contractor management.

  • Skills: Competent in the use of Microsoft Applications, and experience of working with computerised building control systems.

  • Personal Attributes: Good communication skills, committed to providing excellence in customer service, and able to work on own initiative.
