Senior Environmental and Planning Lawyer

Our client, a major utilities company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental and Planning Lawyer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on interesting and complex projects of national importance, collaborating with a dynamic and experienced team.

The role will involve providing focused, accurate, and timely advice on environmental and planning legal matters, as well as managing external legal resources and providing legal support on large-scale programs and projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice on environmental and planning law matters
  • Assisting with Environmental Information Regulation queries
  • Managing external legal resources
  • Providing legal support on ongoing programs and projects
  • Management responsibilities

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified as a lawyer (solicitor, barrister or equivalent)
  • Experience in Environmental and Planning Law
  • Ability to collaborate well as a team player and take on managerial responsibilities
  • Public sector or private practice experience is encouraged, with previous in-house experience beneficial but not necessary
