Business Rates Surveyor Opportunity

Dove & Hawk is partnering with a leading Property Consultancy to recruit a Chartered Surveyor with 3+ years PQE experience in Business Rates to join their established team at Associate level.

This role is ideal for an MRICS Business Rates surveyor looking to increase their personal earnings and future career progression in a business where self-management is highly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and measurements of commercial properties, calculating floor areas and analyzing rental and assessment evidence.
  • Undertake business rates valuations, considering legislative provisions and relevant factors affecting rating valuation and rates liabilities.
  • Contest rateable values via the Check, Challenge and Appeal system without supervision.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities regarding reliefs, exemptions, and liabilities.
  • Manage clients, advising on rating matters and reporting on relevant issues.
  • Conduct regular business development to grow the client base.

Requirements:

  • MRICS Certification
  • 3+ years PQE experience in business rates/valuations
  • Good working knowledge of the London office market
  • Valuation Tribunal experience preferred
  • Knowledge of relief opportunities to explore with billing authorities
  • Personal business development and ability to win contracts
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Salary and Benefits:

£65,000pa basic salary with an exceptional bonus scheme, projected yearly earnings of £100,000+.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm (Hybrid Working).
