We are representing a leading food manufacturer in their search for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Newport, Shropshire.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for observing and reporting machinery defects, carrying out planned maintenance, diagnosing faults, and testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical/electrical equipment. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with a recognized engineering apprenticeship or ONC/HNC equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines required. Experience using CMMS systems and previous work in the food manufacturing industry are also necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and report on machinery defects and symptoms of impending failure
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules
  • Diagnose faults and test, repair, and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment
  • Record work carried out in appropriate documentation/data base (CMMS)
  • Interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment
  • Use simple 5WHY OE techniques/RCA techniques through to 100 year fix
  • Reduce production waste
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognized engineering apprenticeship or ONC/HNC equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a maintenance environment
  • Experience using CMMS systems
  • Previous work in the food manufacturing industry
  • Your own transport due to the site location
Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including a 4-on-4-off shift system, permanent position, future training program/progression, 23 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, overtime paid at time and a quarter after 48 hours, and a 3% Company pension.

Location

The ideal candidate will be able to commute from Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Whitchurch, Cannock, Crewe, Stoke, Oswestry, or Newport.
