As a key leader in the Ultra Electronics Group, we are seeking an experienced Defence Engineering Manager to deliver engineering activities to time, cost, and quality across all aspects of the torpedo defence portfolio.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage complex engineering projects as an Engineering Manager or Lead, driving project success through effective planning and execution.
  • Develop expertise in product-based engineering with a focus on work package management and delivery, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
  • Lead teams of engineers and drive collaboration with other departments, fostering a culture of open communication and mutual respect.
  • Create Work Breakdown Structures and define delivery strategies, aligning project goals with business objectives.
  • Develop engineering plans with dependencies, assumptions, risk, and opportunities identified and communicated, ensuring informed decision-making at all levels.
  • Collaborate with senior management to influence programme decisions, providing expert advice and guidance on complex technical matters.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects in an Engineering Manager or Lead role, showcasing expertise and leadership capabilities.
  • Showcase experience in managing multiple teams and prioritizing tasks effectively, with a strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a logical approach to complex problems.
  • Showcase ability to create and manage project schedules and budgets, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
  • Possess Security Check (SC) clearance (ideally with no caveats), ensuring eligibility for sensitive projects and programmes.
