Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with additional needs, promoting inclusive education, and contributing to the development of a package of learning opportunities and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support learners with additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Promote and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all learners in learning and enrichment activities
  • Observe and engage with learner performance, providing feedback and reflections to colleagues
  • Support with the social, emotional, and mental health needs of learners, escalating concerns as necessary
  • Deliver individual intervention sessions as appropriate
  • Be alert to the physical, social, and intellectual development of learners, adapting provision to support their education at different stages
  • Have a clear understanding of the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language, and disabilities
  • Work alongside teaching and non-teaching staff to support the design of targeted resources to support learners' access to learning outcomes
Requirements:
  • Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant Qualification
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • Willingness to work towards completion of the HLTA qualification
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent (desirable)

All staff are expected to share this commitment by undergoing a 5-year employment check and a DBS application, completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of their first assignment, and annually thereafter.
