Job Overview
The role of a Well-being Support Worker at Protocol Education is to provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This position requires a dedicated individual who can build strong relationships with students, teachers, and families to promote academic and personal growth.

About the Role
This well-being support worker will play a vital part in supporting students to navigate their educational journey and enhance their mental and emotional well-being. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and families to develop and implement personalized support plans that cater to the unique needs of each student. Some key responsibilities include:
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Assisting students with coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
  • Helping students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in the school environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, special educational staff, and parents to create tailored support plans.
  • Encouraging positive behavior, self-confidence, and independence among students.
  • Supporting students to manage their mental health needs and providing a safe, supportive space when required.

Key Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will require a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs. Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach are essential. Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH or in a similar well-being or educational role is highly desirable. A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students is also crucial.
