Job Title: PCV Driver

At London Hire Group, we are seeking a skilled and experienced PCV Driver to join our team. As a PCV Driver, you will be responsible for providing a safe and reliable transportation service to our clients and service users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the Vehicle Safely: Ensure that the vehicle is operated in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits.
  • Maintain Vehicle Standards: Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle is in good working condition and report any defects to the office.
  • Ensure Passenger Safety: Ensure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly in the appropriate location using the necessary safety equipment.
  • Refuel and Clean the Vehicle: Ensure that the vehicle has adequate fuel for the journey and refuel as and when required. Clean the vehicle on a regular basis, as a minimum on a weekly basis.
  • Park the Vehicle: Park the vehicle in the depot correctly, in pre-allocated bays where possible.
  • Operate Passenger Lift: Operate the passenger lift and other equipment used to assist passengers whilst entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
  • Communicate with Passengers: Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient and informative manner.
  • Assist Passenger Assistant: Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Sound Understanding: Sound understanding of working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Patient Attitude: Able to deliver the service with a patient and level-headed attitude.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points.
  • CPC Qualification: Hold a CPC qualification card, with mandatory training kept up to date.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years' experience of driving a bus or coach.
  • DVLA Digital Tachograph: Hold or willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver's card.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service: Willing to undertake and satisfy a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • D4 Medical Examination: Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report.
